I Am Redeemed!

"Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures; "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree. "Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith."- Galatians 3v13-14

God's First Words To Man:

It is not accidental that the first time that we hear God speaking over the first people He created, He spoke words of blessing. Genesis 1v28 said: "God blessed them; and said to them; "Be fruitful and multiply..."

God's Original Plan:

From the very beginning, God's plan was for His people to live in blessing. That extradordinary garden into which He settled them was a place of abundance, joy, peace and beauty. Of course, we know that when Adam and Eve rebelled, they let loose a horrific curse upon the earth in place of that blessing.

Cursed Ground:

Therefore, disease, lack, oppression, misery, strife and pain suddenly reigned. Even the ground became cursed, refusing to yield provision gladly and for everyone of Adam and Eve's descendants came pain, harship and grief became the hard reality of life.

The Truth:

The truth is, it was through the first Adam that curse came upon the world and today the earth still groans under the weight of that curse and will continue to do so until a new heaven and earth comes along!

God's Wonderful Grace:

But thankfully at the Cross, the last Adam, Jesus, came and turned blessing loose in the place of curse for those willing to humbly receive His offer. Paul had this same truth in mind when he told the Roman Christians in Rome: "Also, just as sin rules over all people and brought them to death, now God's wonderful Grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD. (See Romans 5v21)

At The Cross:

This is the message of our key chosen scriptural verse as well. At the Cross we get to exchange life under Adam's curse for life under Abraham's life of blessing. This here is the most amazing exchange we make when we accept God's gracious offer of salvation!

Pray This Prayer!

Lord Jesus,
I ask you to come into my life.
Cleanse me of all my sins.
I make you the LORD and Saviour of my life.
What a priviledge it is to exchange life under the dominion of the curse of sin for a life of blessing under the rule of Grace?
I will not meekly accept lingering remnants of the curse in my life or household under the false assumption that it is your will for me.
Jesus, thank you for becoming a curse for me, so that I might pertake of the blessing of Abraham!
